Can I just say that I’m surprised there was no reaction, one way or the other, on the Icepick poem?

    i really enjoyed that piece

but i figure just popping in and saying “that’s great” all the time doesn’t offer much towards dialogue.

i did enjoy the way the perspectives changed with each stanza, all the while complimenting each other.

    nice work.

    Dear Tony

I’m shocked, appalled, disgusted, morally poisoned, and very angry about that poem.

    …just wait until I actually read it…!

Re: I wanted to print it for a friend.

It didn’t weird me out because I’ve been there. It may weird out those who haven’t been there or more likely don’t want to ADMIT they have been (or still are) there.

It didn’t suck, but I just go with what works for me…and I’m all about hitting me in the gut. If I feel it there (or in the heart somewhere, mabye both), it works.

That’s why a lot of things leave me unimpressed. Beautiful wordplay with no real emotion (or self-absorption without anything else) just leave me cold. I’m an emotion person. Emotive, emotional, sometimes irrational.

    Gotcha.

I’m really afraid that it weirded people out, or that it sucked so hard no one wanted to say anything.

I wanted to print it for a friend.

..and I’m a bit of precarious place at the moment – I think it hits to close to where i was this afternoon.

Powerful, but too powerful for me at the moment. I’ll be back later when I’m equipped to deal (at least a bit) better.
