It’s about music and poetry, again; something of a personal nature that explores the relationship between my guitar playing and my poetry a little more deeply.
Filled, as well, with my usual cranky asides designed to piss off an open mike aficionado or two.
Go here for a look.

I’m hurt. Shocked, and hurt. And hungry, but I think that’s unrelated.
Just in case it was because I didn’t include my e-mail address in the post, here you go:

kickass column =) (thank for the props, btw.)
if it says anything, i’m really hit-or-miss at reading po8ry to music when it’s someone else’s music – for example, the last feature i did at Lizard was dreadful, while the one before that was pretty great. i really gelled w/ the band the first time, esp. the bassist (Drew? is that his name?), & the grooves that they were putting out, & there was a lot of give & take btw. us. the second feature was w/ some different players, & the drummer & i had trouble cathcing up w/ each other – it wound up soundingt like someone shouting as they first dropped all their stuff, then fell headfirst, down the stairs. there’s something about the drummer, maybe? i’ve had really great luck when Regie is drumming… or it might be that the music & the words need a really personal space to marry…

Father Pokem? Isn’t he doing serious time after the Catholic Child Abuse Scandal? In his defense he said “That’s my name? I thought it was Papal instruction! Boy, is my face red….”
There are too many awful jokes suggested by “infinitely expandable ruler”….it’s not that I’mm too good to go there, I’m just lost as to where to start

Re: I’ll save you the time
The Tick’s battle cry isn’t “Spleen,” it’s “Sploon!”
Interestingly enough, “Spleen” was the battle cry of the Green Nun, a little known superhero of the early Twentieth Century. Her superpower was an infinitely expandable ruler that allowed her to rap the knuckles of evildoers in the back row, or anywhere else they might gather.
Her sidekick? Father Pokem, whose superpower was the gift of persuasion and deception.
