Re: that westerberg lyric has the deeply-true/belly-laugh
she likes austin, and rolls through here from time to time (no doubt partly because kgsr always plays her new albums whenever she puts one out), so i bet i get a chance to do just that; that’s a cool heads up. they’re a logical match.

If you get a chance to see Patti Smith, Tom Verlaine tours with her pretty consistently. I saw her “Dream of Life” tour and nearly freaked out when I realized he was onstage. Since then, he’s been with her everytime I’ve seen them.

AC/DC are one of my two guilty pleasures, the other being Metallica.

that westerberg lyric has the deeply-true/belly-laugh
quality to it; woulda been a great choice in either lyrical category.
i was very late discovering television, just started listening (beyond the song “marquee moon”) a few years ago, but they were so great.
and here’s to turned corners, i hope (not that there aren’t always more corners down the hall).

mmmmmm Patsy Cline
MISERLOU! I completely forgot about that one. By the way, how old is that song? I wasn’t aware of it until I started watching Tarrantino flicks.
There’s a good question. What old song did you hear in a movie and then became completely surprised that it had been around for quite some time?
Immediately the only one I can think of right away is “I Will” by Ben Taylor from that remake of Affair to Remember with Annette Benning and Warren Beatty. I know there is a better one I just have to think about it.
