Oh, I don’t like it either. The only reason I watch it now is to bore people by telling anecdotes about the people I know on it. 😉
Seriously — it’s pretty awful. But there’s usually one or two moments per show that make it worthwhile. RAC and George were one of them last night; Dawn Saylor’s on next week, Morris and Ani DiFranco are coming up.
I enjoyed bits and pieces of other things last night — I thought the “he fucked me like Brooklyn” piece was OK. Nikki Patin wasn’t bad. I liked the professor who read the piece about the reading and how her voice was different because she’d never been hit.
Kanye West? Eh.

You know…
perhaps it’s merely a lack of persistence…
I’ve never liked def poetry jam. I always found it’s consistency disappointing. But then again, i’ve only seen it a couple plus one or two times, maybe i just caught the cheesy re-runs.
