2. If I get time this afternoon, I’m gonna post a big new poem — think I’m close enough for some feedback before continuing.
3. Tenet resigns as head of CIA. I’m a bit surprised at the timing, is all. Who to replace him? Porter Goss? John McLaughlin? Get it done before the election, complete with hearings, or let McLaughlin hold the fort till then?
And — who’s next? Hmmmmmmm…This could be the start of the house cleaning I was talking about a few posts ago.

My biggest fear these days is that Bush will conduct a carefully orchestrated “housecleaning” that changes faces without changing policies, and that the appearance of reform will buy him enough credibility to grab the margin necessary for a second term; this is fueled by my belief that Kerry just doesn’t loom “big enough” as a political entity to overshadow such a move for a lot of people.

Tenet SHOULD resign. So should lots of other bozos (Rumsfield, Rice, etc.) I mean, they were SO WRONG about so much, and people are dying every day because of it. How about the buck stops here (as opposed to their awful “the bucks stops way down there.”)
Hopefully this will not get these others off the hook.
