Bad day at Black Rock.

Another day with next to no sleep.

Zero Point Zero is up; first part of a two parter on getting started on a poem. The second part will be the real meat of this, to be honest with you.

That’s about it. Congrats to all my buddies on Providence and Urbana. I’m outie.

    my bestest method –
i take notes – all the damned time. there’s a pad by the bedside, postits by the computer (at home & at work), a journal (or 2) in my purse. every week or so i look through & if something hits me good, i work with it.

    my 2nd bestest method –
sit w/ cd player on & eyes closed until something makes its way out of the fog. play wit it.

    the Shakti method –
the buncha look through topics (from a book or from the list we’ve put together). by the time we’ve made faces at some, giggled at some, & shot the breeze about things that have no bearing on writing for fifteen minutes, we commit to one & go from there. 1 hour, no limits. usually the topic ends up in there.

    (most annoying method ever –
get inspired while driving.. try to write w/o looking at the paper, resting either on the passenger seat or the middle of the wheel. attempt transcription later.)
