In the immediate aftermath
of asking the only question
left to ask
your eyes stray
to the vase of two-week old
brown-eyed susans
on the kitchen table
to the last quarter-inch
of fouled green gray water
in the bottom
to the petals and pollen
ringing the vase
to the withering stems
bending with the weight
of their brown flaking burdens
to your card
flat and face down
next to it
in the aftermath of
asking a question
that you now realize
did not need to be asked

I like it also. This is my first time on this blog. I red beside this post also The News From Whipsmart City and Fall. I liked fall, as I said there in comments. I didn’t understood other one, but I’m not native English speaker. I just want to say that from 3 posts, 2 awaken some emotions in me. That’s why I like your blog and will be here more often, I hope with more and better understanding 🙂
Cheers!
