I’m on record as saying that the state should stay out of this issue altogether; I think the most equitable solution is to eliminate all civil connection to and regulation of how people choose to live their lives and manage their relationships. But we’re not likely to see that anytime soon. For now, this decision would extend existing protections to same-sex relationships.

ETA: They’ve overturned the same sex marriage ban.
