The late Ken Hunt and I argued on more than one occasion about which of us had the bigger unrequited crush on Carrie Brownstein.
I think we declared it a draw.
My love has only increased with this latest album. And I’m increasingly infatuated with Janet Weiss, too.
I’m not quite sure why I don’t feel the same about Corin Tucker. She’s more like a sister to me.
Goddamn. I really believe this is the best rock band in America right now.

My husband…
…is leaving me for Janet. *cry*
I think he’s got that thing for women beating stuff to within an inch of its life. Can’t hold a candle to that.
He’s going to the show – but somehow I think I’m safe. 😉 OTOH, if he’s going to leave me for someone, at least it’s an incredibly talented kick-ass female. :O

Re: for the trees
This is a wild album. I think you’ll have a couple to choose from.
The fun one, a la “You’re no Rock n Roll Fun,” is probably “Rollercoaster.”
But right now, my favorite is “Jumpers.”

for the trees
YAY!!!!
I’m in love with all of them, so smeary and whirly and jumpy in their smarts.
At times, Corin sounds a bit like Kathleen Hannah-meets-Belinda Carlisle, I think, depending on the song—something shaking in the high ranges. When I feel this happening, I take a break, listen to something else, & then come back to it.Every cd has AT LEAST one truly devastating song on it, too like Was it a Lie? or One More Hour.I’ve been wondering what the new devastating song will be.

You nailed it. Jesus, it’s like they just went into the studio and exploded.
