I went out shopping this afternoon and purchased, among other things:
— the new Ani
— the new Sleater Kinney
— the most recent Mountain Goats
I also bought jeans that fit in what I think is my new size — two sizes down from the old one. Gulp.
I shall be well dressed, happily listening and school working later tonight.

That song was the reason I bought the album in the first place! And, happily, the rest of the record turned out to be just as good.

I’m not going near the music stuff, but god, aren’t jeans that are two sizes smaller kind of exciting? 🙂 Well, I thought they were pretty damn exciting when I bought some.

My favorite Mountain Goats album is Tallahassee. If you decide you like the new CD, let me know and I can make you some kind of mix of older and new stuff. When I saw them the first time they came to Phoenix I splurged and bought the three CDs he had that are compilations of a bunch of his old stuff that he recorded in illustrious places like his basement.

how is the new ani? I only have so much money for CD’s so I can’t go buy in unless I know it’ll be in my cd player for at least a week with no interruptions…
let me know what you think

Looking forward to them.
Mountain Goats are new to me. A local station is playing the hell out of “This Year” and I got hooked enough to want to hear the rest.

Yes. Probably my last poetry event for a while, till I’m cleared for takeoff after the surgery.

The Mountain Goats is good – not as good as We Shall All Be Healed, but nothing maybe ever will be.
The new Sleater-Kinney, though — strap in and hold on. It’s incredible.

I have been happily listening to the latest Mountain Goats CD in my car for the past couple of weeks in anticipation of seeing them a week from Tuesday.

I’ll be interested in the reviews.Sleater’s gotten a lot of press about how metalloid the new one is, but the two songs I’ve heard so far don’t give me that impression.

I’m with you
on everything but Mountain Goats, and only because I don’t know them.
Will you be at Speak this Wednesday?
