turned and looked
for someone
to hear it complain,
said:
“Why am I sick?”
And people all over,
even right here, people
who’ve been sick for
a long time, some
sick unto death, replied:
“You’re sick from
eating the same trash
you’ve fed us for years —
just, perhaps,
a little more raw.”
