When whoever it was killed
John Lennon, I got very quiet.
When whoever it was killed
Kurt Cobain, Dimebag Darrell,
Biggie, Tupac, Jam Master Jay,
I got very quiet. Who is killing
everyone? I stay quiet so they don’t
come for me. That’s why I was never
a big star, though I could have been;
it’s not safe, someone kills them. It’s
a conspiracy, of course it is —
shh, though. Stay quiet. Don’t
speak of it. Whoever kills them,
no matter who pulls the trigger,
is listening. The Stones said something
about it, of course someone
tried to kill Mick and he got lucky
but if you think about it, they got real quiet,
mostly making do after that. Mostly.
Mostly I stay quiet. Whoever it is
kills the loud is still out there.
They call me crazy for thinking that —
who’s still loud out there, eh?
I keep my mouth shut. Ever since
John Lennon, more and more shut.
Don’t open your mouth and stop trying.
Stay shut. It’s safe.

Before I “met” John Lennon in meditation, I’d been “seeing” our Lord and Mother Mary in devotional prayer and meditation.
During that time, because I’d been struggling with clinical depression and
a deep longing for God, my prayer life became intense and extensive, and had led me to the traditional Catholic church.
As a result, in all meditations as well as in life, I’d placed myself under the guidance and direction of The Lord Jesus Christ through
the intercession of the Blessed Mother, and had continued to envision both
Jesus and Mary after John had appeared on the scene.
So, although this book is dedicated to John’s
section of the story of my inner world, it does not exist in isolation
but as a pivotal piece in the story of my soul.

I love the voice on this, the way it catches that edge of mania an paranoia. Enjoyed it immensely, in its unsettling sort of way.

Wonderful! It is rare that I come across a poem I really like and admire when browsing “poetry” via wordpress, but yours got my attention from the title and kept it all the way through. Am going to your About page next. Thanks for a great read.

Thank you…and to add to that: rarely do I follow someone’s blog on first read, but I just did with yours…
