Test poet, test poem,
test post —
is this thing visible,
audible, there for you?
Am I showing up?
Is there something present?
A small number of words
being sent into the air. A small man
frantic for impact. A small poem
typed into a white field on a small screen —
testing this as a connection,
failing in confidence, failing as art
when it’s this desperate, when it matters
too much to me.

The poet always has an advantage. Even his doubts make for beautiful poetry…in fact cocky and confident poets are the ones who are difficult to tolerate. This one does connect, bang on, in one go 🙂

These lines are no mere technical glitch created thoughts. You are deeper than you let on. In fact I was worrying about your health, reading these lines 🙂

Oh, if you’re going to write something, you ought to do it well — even if it IS a test post…

Words in the ether
Read, repeated and absorbed,
Connect with my mind.

Thank you!
I have to confess — the poem was written because someone was unable to see posts here. She contacted me and we needed to test the solution…so I wrote this, literally, as a “test post.” (We did solve the problem, by the way.)

Worked all round then!
