To The Evangelist At My Door

I don’t need to live
as if a personal savior
is necessary.

Simply put, I don’t believe
one darkened pixel matters too much
as long as the big picture remains clear.

From where the Artist sits,
I’m just one tiny means to an end —
easily replaced and of no major value.

Who’s to say I was not meant
to be the dark one? To let others shine
because of my dimming?

So keep yourself safe
in your Savior’s bosom…
you do your job, I’ll do mine.

I don’t need salvation.
I’m safe enough in this frame
exactly as it is.
